    Power supply system

The power system is independently developed by Hobbywing Technology and is specially designed for electric hydrofoil surfboard products. It integrates brushless motors, ESCs, propellers, main control boards, masts, communication modules, etc., and adopts IP68 waterproof design. According to the different needs of users, different combinations of masts and hydrofoils can be selected.

    Recommended combination:

56cm mast and HW racing foils

76 cm mast and HW stabilizing foils

    Battery

Hobbywing batteries are specially designed for Hobbywing eFoil-1 electric hydrofoil surfboard. It adopts plug-free design and is easy to install. The fully waterproof design ensures that the battery is protected from seawater erosion during use. The smart battery is not included with the power supply and needs to be purchased separately.

    Battery status indication:

    Power on:

When power on, the five LEDs light up one by one (light up one by one from low to high) with an interval of 0.5s. After 2s of lighting, the normal power display is displayed.

    Power display:

During normal output, the number of LEDs is displayed according to the corresponding power. The corresponding power of one LED is 20%.

    Displaying faults:

The priority level is overcurrent fault (red light flashes twice), overheat fault (red light flashes three times), Bluetooth fault (red light flashes four times); the indicator flashes for 0.5s and off for 0.5s, twice. The interval is 3s (fault duration 30s). When a fault occurs, the fault will always be displayed. If the fault can be recovered, it will remain for at least 30s.

    Stop :

When stopping, all five LEDs light up for 2s, then all five LEDs turn off one by one (from top to bottom), with an interval of 0.5s.

    Noticed :

Self-discharge means that the battery's power gradually decreases over time during storage, thereby extending battery life and improving its availability.

    Charging the batteries

Choose a cool, dry place, away from flammable, explosive or high-temperature objects.
Connect the charger's DC cable to the battery's DC port, press it firmly, and place the battery face up on a hard, flat surface.
Plug the AC power cord into the wall outlet.
The charger's power indicator light is always green, indicating that it is in standby mode.
When it flashes green, the battery is charging.
When the charger indicator light changes from flashing green to solid green, the battery is fully charged. The battery usually takes 2 hours to fully charge. When the indicator light flashes red, it means the battery is faulty, please stop charging immediately.
    Charging failure display:

Input power failure (red light flashes quickly)
Output short circuit or battery reverse connection (red and green flash alternately)
Charger temperature overheat alarm (red light flashes 2 times quickly, with an interval of 1 second, then flashes 2 times quickly)
Output overcurrent alarm (red light flashes 3 times quickly, with an interval of 1 second, then flashes 3 times quickly)
Output overvoltage alarm (red light flashes 4 times quickly, with an interval of 1 second, then flashes 4 times quickly)
    Remote

Combined with ergonomic design, it uses Bluetooth and 2.4G communication methods to achieve precise control. It adopts LCD display interface and is IP68 waterproof.

    Charging the remote control:

Remove the charging cable from the remote control.
Connect the magnetic charging head of the charging cable to the magnetic charging port of the remote control until the magnetic connector is automatically attracted. Plug the other end of the charging cable into the USB charging head to charge.
When charging, the remote control enters the boot interface and displays the charging information. The charging capacity ranges from low to high, and the corresponding grid number is displayed for the total capacity. The charging time of the remote control from 0 to 100% is 4 hours.

Remote control display

The display contents are: local time, Bluetooth connection, speed, remote control power, battery power, speed unit and mode.

Operating procedures:

Power on and off: After pressing the left and right buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds, the system turns on (with vibration feedback), displays the power-on animation, and enters the lock interface after power-on. The remote control is connected to the power supply system, and the Bluetooth icon on the screen keeps flashing.

Unlock: Enter the lock interface after turning on the phone. If there is no operation for 10 seconds, it will automatically lock. When the user falls into the water or disconnects the Bluetooth connection for other reasons, and there is no throttle control within 1 second after reconnecting the remote control, the remote control will also automatically lock. Press and hold the right button for 2 seconds to unlock.

After unlocking, enter the main interface. After turning on the phone for the first time, the default eco mode is set, the default gear is 6, and the total gear is 24. After shutting down and restarting, the last gear setting is retained.

Remote control mode setting:

Press and hold the left button for 3 seconds, the mode character flashes, release the left button, click the right button to switch the mode, and lock the mode after 5 seconds of inactivity. The working mode is divided into three working modes: eco (power saving mode), D (normal mode) and S (sports mode). The maximum speed in each mode is different, as follows: eco mode maximum speed 25km/h, D mode maximum speed 35km/h, S mode maximum speed 55km/h.

APPLICATION

The app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store

Carrying case

The carrying case can be used as a carrying case for the electric hydrofoil surfboard. Designed with detachable wheels and special straps, this carrying case allows users to carry a complete set of Hobbywing eFoil-1 products. Users can put the power system, battery, remote control, hydrofoil, etc. into the carrying case and fix the board outside the carrying case. The inner lining of the box is made of EPP material, and the split compartment design avoids damage caused by extrusion and friction between the modules. At the same time, the board body alone avoids the collision and friction between the board body and the portable case.

Steps of use

Press the button on the socket to separate the straps to open the case
Remove the charger from the case and you can place the battery in the charger compartment. Place the back wing under the power supply. Place the front wing on the lid of the carrying case, make sure it clicks into place, then attach the straps.
Remove both wheels.
Close the box closed. Push the loops A together.
Attach the card to the laptop.
Press the quick release spring to release the strap.
Place the card on the portable box, with the EVA pad side of the card facing the top cover of the box to ensure it is non-slip.
Push the B buckles together and adjust the length of the strap to ensure the plate and case are securely closed. Then attach the Velcro hook section to the buckle section.
NOTE: Make sure the rubber coating is in contact with the edge of the plate.
Simply pull the handle on the box to slide the entire hydrofoil electric surfboard out.
Installation Steps

Here are the instructions for installing all modules of the HW eFoil-1 hydrofoil electric surfboard. Please strictly follow the steps below for installation.

Install the mast

Flip the board back and insert the mast vertically into the mast mounting seat (propeller faces the tail of the board)
Make sure the mast is installed correctly and tighten the four M6* screws clockwise with a 4mm hex key.
Note: Before installation, make sure there is no water, sand or other debris in the DC port of the mast.

Install the wings

Place the rear fender on the mounting position and tighten the two M6* screws clockwise with a 4mm hex key.
Place the front fender in its mounting position and tighten the four M6* screws clockwise with a 4mm hex key.
Install the battery

Turn the card body over until the battery compartment is facing up and reset the four twist locks.
Insert the battery into the battery compartment and rotate the four rotary locks 180 degrees to secure the battery securely.
Note: Before installation, please make sure there is no water, sand or other debris in the battery port.

Powertrain and Remote Control Pairing

The remote control and the power supply are paired and connected before leaving the factory. When the battery and the remote control are powered on, they will automatically connect. If the remote control is not connected to the power supply, please pair it manually according to the following standard pairing process:

The remote must be calibrated after first power on, otherwise it will not respond to the accelerator (flash must have calibration settings)

Send calibration instructions via APP to enter calibration mode.
Hold the throttle released, then click the right (+) button on the remote control to calibrate the initial zero angle.
Press the throttle to the maximum, then click the right button (+) on the remote control to calibrate the maximum angle.
Right-click again to save the calibration information.
